The trend of the moment is sweet or savoury recipes cooked in a mug, all the ingredients are mixed in a teacup, after a brief baking in the oven or the microwave, voilà… your mug recipe is ready. It is better if you put dishes and moulds in the cupboard and read carefully these simple and quick recipes to rustle up a dinner or a lunch completely in the mug! The mug cupcakes have been the first to launch this trend, now this weird way of serving and cooking has spread to preparations of all the types, both sweet and savoury. Here you are some tasty recipes!

Mug scrambled eggs

Eggs, vegetables, spices and string cheese. A perfect comfort food for its quickness of preparation as a super breakfast or a midnight snack. It’s having a big success in the mug version because it reduces the preparation time avoiding the single cooking of all the ingredients. Just a single step, all in the mug and “baked”.

Ingredients for a mug:

1 egg
2 spoons of milk
Half an onion, grinded
Half a bell pepper, diced
Scamorza
Salt
Pepper
Nutmeg

Preparation: put in a teacup egg, milk, spices, vegetables, ham and grinded cheese. Mix and cook in the microwave at the maximum power for 1-2 minutes, until the egg puff out. If you like, sprinkle with cheese and grill for other 30 second.

Mug savoury pie with courgettes and Brie

This mug savoury pie is a tasty last minute aperitif, fast and simple, with only five ingredients!

Ingredients for a mug:

Half a courgette
A slice of Brie,
1 egg
Cream
Salt
Pepper
Curcuma
Toasted sliced bread

Preparation: place the toasted sliced bread on the bottom of the mug, add the diced courgettes and Brie, cover with the whipped egg with aromas and the cream. Cook on the microwave for 3-4 minutes at the maximum power.

Peach crumble with ice cream

Last minutes guests for dinner and little time to make a dessert? With this mug cake you will make a good impression for sure! The muesli make the dough crispy, hiding a heart of soft and sweet peaches. It is perfect paired with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients for a mug:

Sliced peach
Two spoons of brown sugar
Cinnamon
The juice of a half lemon
Two spoons of self-rising flour
Two spoons of milk
Two spoons of crispy muesli
Vanilla ice cream to decorate

Preparation: put a peach in the bottom of the mug, a teaspoon of sugar, lemon juice and a pinch of cinnamon; in another mug blend the remaining ingredients: flour, milk, sugar, cinnamon, finally add crispy muesli and blend. Cover the peaches with the muesli dough and cook in microwave for 3-4 minutes at the maximum power. Serve with ice cream.

Chocolate cake with a soft heart

Ingredients for a mug:

30 gr of butter
3 spoons of sugar
1 yolk
3 teaspoons of milk
3 spoons of flour
2 spoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
½ teaspoon of baking powder
3 dices of chocolate

Preparation: in a mug, place sugar and chocolate dices and make them melt in the microwave. Add sugar, egg, milk, flour, baking powder, the cocoa powder and blend. Place a dice of chocolate in the middle of the dough and cook in the microwave for 1 minute at the maximum power. Outside it has to be soft and cooked, the heart perfectly melted.
