Golositalia 2017, the agri-food Fair

The 6th edition of Golositalia 2017 is starting in few days. It is one of the most important events at national and international level about food and wine. It will take place at Centro Fiera del Garda in Montichiari, Brescia, from 25th to 28th February 2017.
The main characters will be high quality food and wine and the tools of the trade, together with events and courses dedicated both to private citizens and operators. Thanks to the courses, the attendants will be able to learn new cooking techniques, update their own abilities or discover new know-how.
640 exhibitors, which belong to all the agri-food sectors, 78.000 visitors expected from every part of Italy and 6 areas: Food, Wine, Beer, Food Service and Professional Equipment, Restaurant and Bio&Vegan Area.

Golositalia 2017: the news about the 6th edition

The most important news is the fusion with another important fair, Aliment & Equipments, that has taken place in Brescia for more than 20 years. It is a fair dedicated to the Food sector specialized in professional equipment for restaurants, hospitality and hotel facilities.
Moreover, during this 6th edition the Bio & Vegan area has been increased, but also the products from all over the world will have more room.
Last but not least, the creation of an e-commerce to allow the exhibitors to sell even after the end of the fair.

Golositalia 2017: events, courses and tastings

During the four days the visitors could attend different events to deepen their know-how and be updated on the last trends.
Famous characters of the sector will participate to the events, such as Ernst Knam, Top Pastry Chef world-renowned, Chef Marcello Ferrarini, host of the TV program “Senza Glutine con gusto” (in English, “Gluten free with taste”) and Lorenzo Dabove, aka Kuska, for the beer sector.

The theme of the courses will include a wide range of subjects from the most traditional, like the one dedicated to the cooking methods “Affumicatura e bagnomaria” (in English, “Smoking and Bain-marie”), to the last food trends like “Latte art” or “Cocktail mixology da Londra” (in English, “Cocktail mixology from London”). Golositalia 2017 pays attention also to the food intolerances and habits with the courses “La piccolo pasticceria vegana e senza glutine” (in English, “The small vegan and gluten free confectionery”) or “Pasticceria salutistica: prodotti speciali per le intolleranze” (in English, “Healthy confectionery: special products for food intolerances”).
Also the tastings are worth mentioning. Most of them are dedicated to wines like Spumante, DOP wines of Brescia to celebrate the landlords, red and Passito wines. But also craft beers, excellent cheeses and the secrets of a perfect Genoese pesto, just to mention a few.

Golositalia 2017: visiting the surroundings

Centro Fiera del Garda is situated in Montichiari, the third most populated municipality of the province of Brescia. It is famous for the Bonoris Castle, built on the ill of San Pancrazio in 1107, or its imposing Duomo dedicated to S. Maria Assunta in 1729.
Just an hour far from Centro Fiera is situated Desenzano del Garda, an important touristic centre of Lake Garda, perfect for a relaxing walk along the Lake or in its historical centre, always liven up by the numerous restaurants and bars. Pay a visit to the imposing Desenzano Castle and the Archaeological Museum located in the ex Carmelite Monastery where it is possible to admire amazing mosaics and roman rests.
Few minutes away there is Sirmione, also called “the pearl of Garda”, for its harmonious landscape, unique in the world. The city is an important Spa centre, ideal if you want to give yourself few hours of wellness at Terme di Aquaria. Here you can enjoy the benefits of the sulphur water, hot waters directly from the bottom of the Lake Garda. Worth visiting are the Grottoes of Catullus, ruins of a Roman villa, built at the beginning of the I century AC.
