Mug cakes, cakes in a mug
Are you craving for something delicious? The solution comes from America… the mug cakes, mini cakes super easy to prepare, perfect for breakfast or for a break. The name mug cakes derives from the mug, the typical cup from the United States and was born to be cooked in a microwave.
Here you can find two recipes to try immediately:
Blueberry mug cake
2 spoons of butter
1 medium egg
1 spoon of semi-skimmed milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
3 spoons of brown sugar
4 spoons flour with yeast
¼ teaspoon of powdered cinnamon
1 pinch of salt
3 spoons of fresh blueberries
½ teaspoon of brown sugar
Melt the butter for 20 seconds in the microwave, at 800 w of power. Add in the mug, blending, egg, milk and vanilla, then sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt.
Place the blueberries in the mix and in the surface.
Cook in the oven for 2 minutes at 800 watt.
Sprinkle with brown sugar and serve still warm.
Chocolate mug cake
Ingredients for two people:
4 spoons of flour
3 spoons of oil
4 spoons of sugar (better if brown sugar)
3 spoons of chocolate drops (optional)
3 spoons of cocoa
2-3 drops of vanilla extract
3 spoons of milk
In the mug add, mixing, the flour, sugar, cocoa and egg, then pour the milk, oil and vanilla paying attention to incorporate all the ingredients. If you want, you can add also chocolate drops.
Place the cup in a microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 Watt. The cake will bloat over the edge.
Leave cooling down for a while and… taste!
One more suggestion: serve it still warm paired with vanilla or milk ice cream!
As it is cooked in oven, the mug cake is not a dessert suitable to be preserved for a long period of time, thus it is preferable to eat it immediately.
