Tuscany, land with precious wine

Tuscany is with any doubt the land that represent most the Italian excellences for its high quality wines: numerous are the wines that boast the certification DOC and DOCG.
The gentle hills of the Tuscan countryside where red and white wines are produced and that contributes, for sure, to the popularity of these products thanks to the fertile soil and the favourable climate that characterize them.
The most famous wines for the production of these wines are made with Sangiovese grapes.
Among the most famous Tuscan wines there are Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and the Vernaccia di San Giminiano.

The most popular is of course Chianti, the precious Tuscan red wine with both the denomination. It is produced in the homonym territory that, for its weather conditions and the lands of different altitudes seem to be addressed to be the land of production of high quality wine par excellence.
The main organoleptic properties of the Code of Production of Chianti Classico are the ruby red colour, the presence of floral note of violet with the presence of red fruits in the nose and the dry, soft and delicate taste.
The most precious Chianti is produced in the municipalities of Radda, Gaiole and Castellina in Chianti: with a great body, harmonious and perfect to be aged.
The most ancient document that mentions the Chianti can be dated back to 1398.

Precious Tuscan wine: Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

Montepulciano or Vino Nobile is a DOCG wine that is produced among the hills with the same name.
It is the most ancient of the Tuscan wine: some documents dated it back around the year 790. It is obtained from Sangiovese grapes for a minimum of 70%, Canaiolo Nero grapes for around the 10%-20% and small quantities of other local vine variety like Mammolo. Wine is refined in durmast barrels for two years.

Another of the Tuscan DOCG wines is Brunello di Montalcino that is produced in the province of Siena in the municipality of Montalcino. It is vinified exclusively from Sangiovese grapes and following the code of sales that has to begin the fifth January after the grape harvest.
In this period the Tuscan wine Brunello di Montalcino experience a long process of refining in durmast barrel (24 months) and the bottle (at least 4 months).

Precious Tuscan wine: Morellino di Scansano

It is the youngest of the wines of Tuscany, with the DOC certification since 1978 and the DOCG certification in 2007. It is produced in the area of Grosseto. It can be perfectly paired with stewed meat, skewers, pork liver, roasted pork and stewed boar meat.

Precious Tuscan wines: Vernaccia di San Giminiano

Vernaccia di San Giminiano is a Tuscan white wine produced in an area enclosed between Siena, Pisa and Florence that coincide with the homonym territory.
It has a dry, fresh and harmonious taste with an aftertaste of bitter almond perfectly paired with fried fish, fish and white meat dishes.
It has obtained the DOC certification in 1966 and it is among the most famous precious and appreciated Tuscan wines in the world.
