How many calories are in your glass of wine?

Alcohol is a pseudo-food strictly forbidden in the slimming diets because of its high calorie count also in small quantity of alcohol.

To calculate the calories of a glass of wine it is necessary to know its alcoholic volume: a glass of red wine with an alcoholic body around 14% count around 120 kcal, whereas choosing a glass of a light white wine with an alcoholic percentage below the 12%, the calories are around 100 – 110 kcal.

The values increase for Passito wines and in particular the distillates which calories count for 40 gr is more than 100 kcal: this is why the fruit cocktails with rum or tequila that seems harmless are actually real caloric bombs, that can rich the 500 kcal like a dish of spaghetti.

Calories in a glass of wine: how much are they?

The 120 kcal of a good glass of well-structured red wines, suitable to pair with a tasty dish of meat or lasagna, is it too much?

Well, remind that they are less than the 10% of the calories that can be daily introduced by an adult and are the same of the calorie count of an apple of medium dimensions (the dietetic fruit par excellence!), they are less caloric than a banana or just a little more than the calories of a pear.

The beer has generally a lower alcoholic volume than wine, but as for its calories it is pretty penalized: this is why a glass of beer is actually more capacious than the one for the wine and it tends to have higher quantities of this drink with consequences on the scale!

How to “dispose” the calories of a glass of wine?

As many nutritionists teach us, the secret for a successful diet is to pair the right doses of food with a regular physical activity.

Instead of giving up drinking wine during meals, we can choose to consume freely this nectar balancing the calories in two ways: avoiding the consumption of another sugary food like a dessert or fruit, or disposing the extra calories with gym.

It is sufficient, in fact, to run for at least 15 minutes to get back the calorie difference, with the advantage of our general benefit, both physical and humoral.
