Organizer in one hand, pen on the other, ready to write down all the food and wine events of March! The calendar is rich in culinary appointments, dedicated to all the Italian foodies to be always updated on the last trends of the wine & food world.
The event of the events is Prowein in Dusseldorf, Germany. It is taking place from 19th to 21st March in the fair trade centre of Dusseldorf. It is the main meeting point between professionals of the wine sector from all over the world and international buyers. Veneto
The first weekend of March, take advantage of a beautiful Sunday to make a trip in the picturesque Caorle. A small Murano, made of lots of coloured houses and good food. Sunday, 5th of March there will be Mangia Day at Palaexpomar, from 10.00 to 23.00. The event couldn’t have a most tempting name! It will be the first stopover of a tour: Mangia Street Tour, that in 2017 will reach different cities of Veneto, on the wave of the success of the first edition held in San Donà.

Sunday 12th March will be rich in events for the wine lovers. In fact, from 11.00 to 19.00 Venice hosts Gar – Gradito l’Abito Rosso, that will take place in the lavish rooms of the hotel The Westin Europa & Regina. FISAR, also this year propose the most famous and well known red wines of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Slovenia, for the most awaited tasting of the year.
Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Merlot, Pignolo, Tazzelenghe, Cabernet Franc e Cabernet Sauvignon, Schioppettino, Franconia, Pinot Nero, Terrano together with other wines of wineries coming from these two regions, that have in common the richness of the soils and microclimates that give elegant wines with great personalities. Again in the province of Venice, in the amazing Villa XXV Aprile located in Mirano is going to take place “Bollicine in Villa”. Here the visitors can taste the best national and international bubbles, but also a polished selection of food. From 10.00 to 20.00 the visitors can taste around a hundred of selected wines thanks to the help of producers and sommelier ready to explain the organoleptic properties of the wines.
Beer lovers, don’t worry, it’s your turn! The usual appointment with “Fiera della Birra Artigianale Mastro Birraio” at Fiera di Santa Lucia di Piave is coming back. It is divided into three events: the weekend from 24th to 26th March is dedicated to Italian breweries, from 31st to 02nd April the mail characters will be the breweries coming from Veneto, whereas from 7th to 8th April it’s time for the European beers.
20 different breweries for each week end, 10 excellent food stalls, 26 shows with musicians and street artists, collectors, gadget and much more. You can’t lose this festival!
Tuscany
The first weekend of March, from 4th to 6th March the 10th edition of “Terre di Toscana, eccellenze nel bicchiere” will take place. From 11th to 13th Pitti Taste comes back! Stazione Leopolda (FI) will be an explosion of tastes and excellences. Italian lifestyle, once again, is on show for the 12th edition of Pitti Taste. This is a unique event for the best international operators of the food sector, but also for the passionate and foodies. An entire article won’t be enough to list the exhibitors that are more than 300 and the numerous events that will animate Florence in this weekend of March, inside and outside Stazione Leopolda. Lombardy
Among the different events in Lombardy, we advise you “Identità Golose Milano” from 4th to 6th March. The 13th edition will be held in MiCo – Milano Congressi and it is going to celebrate “the strength of the freedom: the travel” where Italian and foreign chefs will talk about their freedom of expression, result of travels and life experiences.
Lazio
We want to close with an event that you shouldn’t miss… in Rome! We are talking about “La città della Pizza” from 31st to 2nd April at the Guido Reni District. Three days dedicated to pizza in a wonderful travel from North to South. The visitors could eat the best pizzas of Italy, choosing among more than 90 recipes paired with the craft beers of Baladin and the bubbles of Consorzio del Prosecco DOC.
